| My car passed inspection! And all it took was an oil change, properly inflated tires, an alignment, a filled gas tank, and a warm up drive. I was worried that would have to replace the O2 sensor, which would have cost 150 bucks, which sucks because 02 sensors only cost 35 dollars but they're a pain in 'da rear to replace. And in any case, my car needed to alignment and oil change, so spending the 50 dollars on that was practical . . . My tags and plates expire wednesday, so I now have to head downtown either today - probably monday after work now that I think about it - and get that taken care of. Joy! |

| [Make it Stop] |
| I'm in research paper hell. Can't think. Can't get anything done. I took off work today and tomorrow in hopes of being productive. I'm screwing myself as I type this. Must get back to work. |

| [I Just Don't Get It] |
| Just two days ago, the weather was warm - almost too
warm - but I just read that there is a "Frost Advisory" for tonight.
I don't get it. I took today and tomorrow off work to finish (and *start* - it's hardly a paper yet) my Feminism and Lit. paper and run other miscellaneous errands. I was hoping the weather would be warm for my car's emission test, because warm air makes a huge difference, especially for vehicles like mine that are on tbe border of passing. If anything, I'll go downtown to the BMV and get temp. tags and plead "weather" insanity. Then, I'll tell 'em that the whole e-check thing sucks ass. Off to get caffeinated and start typing. |

| Two more weeks of grad school. Two more weeks. Two more weeks. I have a paper due next week (which I've finished), a paper due the following week, and two finals - one take home, one in-class the second week of May. After the semester is over, I only have a few more weeks of work, then I'll start working at the Corryville library or at Joseph-Beth bookstore, or something like that. I'm thinking about going out tonite, calling in sick tomorrow. I need a mental day. I'm going to strangle someone before the week is up if I don't take tomorrow off. |

| Fairly productive day so far. Got some much needed work on my car. Just little things. Oil change. Tire Alignment. Rotation. Worked a bit on my research paper at the Norwood library while my car was at Firestone. I have about 7 pages of notes and quotes - a rough outline. The paper is due on May 1st, so I have *some* time. My original goal was to have it completed by wednesday of this week, to leave some time for editing. I'll work on it some tonight. I also have to read Pericles, the one Shakespeare play I know absolutely nothing about. I saw some funny stuff today. Some guy was running with his dog, a pitbull, I think, and the dog had a huge log in it's mouth as it was running. Pup was proud of his killing, I could tell. While I was at the library, typing on my laptop, a little girl came up to me and said "I like your typewriter." I didn't think "typewriter" existed in the vocabulary of children under 10. I haven't touched a typewriter in 15 years. I was cut off my a Metro bus today. But that's not new. I'm easily amused. Back to my paper |

[It's Raining . . .] |
| . . . and I've opened the back door to let some of the cool air in. My apartment has gotten so hot over the past week. While I am looking foward to summer in that I will be working at the library or at a bookstore and no busting my ass with school work, I am not looking foward to the inevitable stickyness that plagues Cincinnati in the summer months. Yuck. Humidity is not my friend for the most part - though I *do* gripe about the dryness in the winter when I can hardly breath and when my skin looks like that of an aligator. There's no pleasing me, I guess. |

| I think I've finally kicked the croup completely. My voice is back and I'm no longer coughing, but unfortunately, due to my laziness over the last 3 weeks and overconsumption of alcohol and food this weekend, I've gained some extra pounds. I'm thinking about trying out the Metabolife. My uncle - who was never really overweight, but wanted to shed some inches - has been using it; he's lost about 20 pounds. Granted, I only want to loose 10 (15 would be nice) and I'm sure If I exercised and ate right, I would lose it, but being a grad student, constantly hooked to my books and computer by an i.v., I rarely get time to get out to break a sweat (The only time my heart rate goes up is when I get stressed over research papers and grades). By the time I get home from work, I have to hit the books, and after that I'm so drained that I can only think about taking a bubble bath and reading cosmo. But now, even taking a bubble bath grosses me out when I'm stuck looking at myself. God, I've been eating so much junk food, it disgusts me. ::blech:: Eh, I'm pathetic. |

| [Ugh (aren't I eloquent?)] |
| Well, after an far too eventful weekend, preceded by a lazy week off work, I am still trying to crank out my research paper for Shakespeare. I had this grandiose scheme -- to complete my paper over my week off work so that I could start my paper for Feminism -- and, of course, this failed to become a reality. Too much to drink. To much sheer laziness. If I could only have another week. I did, however, get a healthy portion of my Shakespeare paper completed. I have 4 and a half complete pages and 5 pages of *stuff* loosely strung together. The final paper needs to be 12 pages long, so I figure I only have 4 pages of real typing to do, which will not only fill in and expand the 5 pages of ick but also bring my paper to the appropriate length. So things aren't too bad. My goal -- now that I've gotten my laptop back from Best Buy (the lcd monitor was replaced thanks to the three year warranty) -- is to finish my paper at work tomorrow, to the point where it only needs fine tuning, and nothing major. There are, however, 2 or 3 books at the library that I ordered over Ohiolink, which I intended to use as resources. After I ::ahem:: complete my paper, I will go to the library before class and scan through the books, see if anything is really relevant. There is a particular article out of one of the books I *know* I will use, but that's really about it. I'll be able to do the work without the sources; anything else I find relevent, I will add accordingly, but if the new sources don't fit in any way, I won't be worried. |

| Just a little update: Richard III kicks some serious
ass. Lord, I'm a nerd. In other news, I finally gave in and started wearing my glasses while I'm on the computer. My eyes are sooooo thanking me for it. I don't really have vision problems, but, I have serious eye-strain and migraines. This is helping. Anything that keeps me from getting a shot o' pain killer in my hip is my friend . . . |
